Our daughter has CP and was nonverbal for the first 6 years. And then she found her stride and hasn't piped-down since :).
She's about to start 8th grade and I couldn't be more impressed with how the schools here in South Lyon have accommodated her. She has a dedicated para-educator who works with her throughout the day. The bond we feel with these people is like family. They're the best of us. I know every special needs kiddo is different, but because of their selfless service, she's in mainstream classes for most of the day.
