Sleeping Bear Dunes
I've lived in Michigan my entire life and we used to go to Sleeping Bear Dunes when I was a small kid, but I haven't been there in probably 50 years... Our daughter is visiting from CA and loves hiking, so we took a quick trip up there.
Among other things, we did the Dune Climb and then took the Dunes Trail all the way to the Lake Michigan shoreline. It's quite a hike but really worth it if you get a chance. It's about a 3 hr round trip and parts of it are pretty difficult, so take a lot of water, but the payoff is amazing!
