He was defeated by Upset. Just read about it. Apparently the start was a bit fugged up. They didn't have starting gates. May have been a screw job too, though no one is sure. The jockey riding Upset and Man O' War's jockey were both denied their jockey licenses when up for renewal the next year without comment from the licensing people. Hmmm.
