One of the many things I might struggle with if I were single is exercise

I enjoy walking/hiking by myself, but in the summer months it’s very hard for me to motivate myself.

My wife and I walk together multiple times a week—usually about 2 miles with a significant hill. I suspect that we each provide the other some motivation: not wanting to be the one to “wuss out” because it’s too hot, or just the fact that one of us will probably bring it up: “do you want to walk before or after we eat dinner?”

Left to my own devices, I might wuss out a lot more often.
