Had the Tigers done well this stretch people could have said, "See we're a playoff team. It was so dumb to not buy at the deadline." Now, they're doing badly again, and all the flaws that existed before the deadline are still present, and you can say, "You are starting to see the effects of selling, hitting the pitching staff."

This has been a team with an inconsistent to bad offense all year. A team that has dealt with injuries all year. And a team with a bad bullpen all year. There was no amount of bullpen arms or bats the Tigers could trade for, or the assets for them to give up, to solve that.
