Dortmund is panicked over a lack of depth at fullback and really want to complete the deal for Fort from Barcelona. Barcelona would purportedly take 10 mill if they got a favorable buy back and sell on clauses, but Dortmund need Inter to pay them 10 mill. for Regginia, their under 18 centerback, in order to complete the deal for Fort.

They are pretty desperate, especially as Bensebani looks like total crap trying to play centerback (and got a red against Bayern and hurt himself at the same time) and they will be very reluctant to even try him at leftback ever again. So they have Svensson and Ryerson. When they thought they had two options at right back, they allowed their u21 left back Kabar to go on loan in Holland, but both fell through as they couldn't reach a deal with Chelsea for Acheampong iand Pedersen of Torino turned down a move to Dortmund because he already plays behind Ryerson in the Norway team and doesn't want to be stuck as a sub for him at club level as he is for Norway.

Of course, they really don't want to sell Regginai, as the youngster came up huge for them last season with Schlotterbeck, Sule, Mane, Can and others out at the end of the season and the 18 year old played very well. But, there other teen centerback, Flippo Mane, also competes for time at centerback and they brought in the young French defender Gadou from the French league and he has been excellent (bye, bye Suile). I don't see them moving for any other wings, having brought in Konstaneidas, as the young American Mathis Albert looked excellent in the preseason and should see a lot of time off the subs bench.

Of course, things could change quickly if a Premiership club moved for Guirassey or a Spainish club for Fabio Silva. Guirassey's salary is a major turn off for most Premiership teams that have inquired and the Silva deal with Deportivo was really close last week and I'm not sure what held it back. If either forward is sold, Dortmund go full out in trying to sign Woltemade from Newcastle (probably only a loan as Newcastle paid a ridiculous amount for him and won't want to deal with amounts Dortmund could afford). Who knows how it all plays out
