Detroit Dwarf is a great alt.

The head brewer was trained in Germany and it shows. All of the German styles Old Nation blow away any of the M-43 series as far as I'm concerned. I enjoy an occasional original M-43 on tap about once per year. About the same as Oberon.

But his Helles, Maibock, Italian Pils and Oktoberfest are all very good. Boreal, a dry-hopped lager, is also excellent and has a great farmhouse quality.

Unfortunately, Old Nation probably would have closed had it not ventured into the many NE IPAs it brews. As Long as the doors are open, I can live with that.
