The Victors

Once the seeding is done the captains of the twelve teams get together either liver or on zoom. Then the captain of the #1 seed gets to the mic and announces who they want in the first round. Then the next highest seed that hasn’t already been picked, etc. this rewards the higher seeds in letting them pick the matchups they want. The star of the #2 team is out w an injury, maybe they get picked to play the #1. You’re a power team and you know another squad has trouble stopping the run, pick them. It also makes instant rivalry between teams that may have no inherent animosity. “Oh you picked us? Bring it, motherfuckers. We’re ready for you…”. Would be a televised spectacle on the level of the nfl draft or the seeding release show for the tourney
