Questions like do you like the Beatles always strike me as a bit odd

It's like being asked do you like the ocean? I mean the ocean is just THERE, it's massive, it affects everything and everybody, and whether I like it or not seems sort of trivial.
As for what musicians think this reminds me of something Chekov said about Tolstoy:
"When literature possesses a Tolstoy, it is easy and pleasant to be a writer; even when you know you have achieved nothing yourself and are still achieving nothing, this is not as terrible as it might otherwise be, because Tolstoy achieves for everyone. What he does serves to justify all the hopes and aspirations invested in literature."

re: not being able to name one Beatles song as your fav, I noted in that thread having two categories, one 62-66 and one 67-70
