UCLA athletics “currently carries a significant financial deficit, and this path is not sustainable.”

Not a big Jarmond guy but I don’t exactly get it. They’ve been in debt forever. Is the chancellor mad they gave a 5/$34 million deal to Bob Chesney? The alternative was what; keep paying slightly less for shitty coaches?
