I wonder if they will surprise. I think Fitzgerald is a good coach, and he certainly is going to be motivated. I don't think MSU is ever going to get back to anything close to their Dantonio years, mostly because Michigan and PSU were down, but I wouldn't be shocked if they were competitive.

I know Fitz faded in his last couple NW years but overall he kept them competitive. Of course 7-5 in this day and age means empty stadiums and angry fans.
