It was a Sundance film and I saw it way back around 1995 while I was still in high school on the Sundance channel. I remember the video store on Liberty St had a local features section and a vhr version.
It was written by Steven Chbosky and was filmed in and really captured early 1990s Ann Arbor. Apparently there was some drama with the distribution rights and it has never been issued on DVD sadly. It also doesn't seem to be out on the internets, though it made a brief appearance on Vimeo and then sadly seemed to disappear again.
I have tried to find a copy forever. My 17 year old self really enjoyed it and the introduction to Ann Arbor!
