Ohhhh, I *understand* why they post there. (And only there) I just wish it weren't the case that they weren't more tolerant of the bullshit here

steve is legitimately funny -- his wry comments even in the context of the BS threads were smart and entertaining. I still use the motto on his family crest ("Don't Get Involved") all the time when people are asking me about this situation or that.

I haven't bantered with Jeff (Albertson, I assume) but he was entertaining as well. And whomever came up with Jerk Albertson.

Basically I like shooting the shit with smart people, whether it is in depth discussion or just pitching it back and forth at each other. I don;t remember any primary posters on that board ever getting personal or going low in arguments or discussions, though it could have happened.

All things evolve, or devolve, but to me the Golden Age of the board -- when the content was at its richest, funniest, deepest, most informative, etc. was the ten years or so prior to the split. I realize I'm probably just old and nostalgic for a non-existent past, but that's still how it feels to me, and I think I speak for some otehrs too who "grew up" on the old boards.

C'est la vie.
