Rumblings from an Orioles contact: there may be a bit of a breakthrough in MLB CBA negotiations

Supposedly there is an emerging consensus from several ownership groups that if the MLBPA agrees to a dramatic revamping of local broadcast revenue sharing and some tweaks to the draft, owners will drop the salary cap demand. The MLBPA has expressed a willingness to explore increased local revenue sharing. A couple Brewers writers are getting a little over their skis with optimistic takes, but if that happens the CBA would probably be wrapped up in time to prevent any missed games in 2027.
An International draft proposal might still be a source of contention. Players, especially from the Dominican Republic, are opposed to it, owners would like it so they can stop investing in foreign academies.
