They're on these islands that have maybe 20 feet of beach - that the tides can reach the top of, and then there's a massively dense jungle forest with no pathways, no nothing, and on an immediately steep ascent!

Like what the fuck are you supposed to do? I'm halfway through the season and there has been ZERO payoff for anyone making the insanely arduous trek through the jungle. That's not good TV!

One team at least built a water pipe thing that's pretty cool, but food is extremely difficult to come by in the ocean (it's choppy waves and razor sharp coral everywhere), so they make the rational decision to brave the jungle.

And this place is nuts. It's a 30 degree uphill climb, spiky and slippery footing everywhere, it's jam packed with trees and vines and spikey shit that would put your eye out, there are venemous snakes and bugs everywhere, there are no pathways. But they bravely push through all that - and there's nothing! No payoff! At least so far. That's not satisfying TV.
