I can't copy and paste this because it's an interactive article. No surprise to anyone on this board. The number of days with a heat index exceeding 90°F has markedly increased across the nation since 1995. That means greater health issues plus the other known effects from global warming, i.e., increased forest fires and drought.
The editorial points out that the Trump Administration and the Republican Party is either claiming climate change is a hoax or ignoring it altogether. The public writ large is more concerned with other issues, but the NYT does urge the candidates in the 2028 elections to devise and discuss their climate plans.
