the defense overall was a bright spot last night

WMU had 221 total yards on 67 snaps, 3.3 yards per play. That would have been the 3rd best defensive performance (not opponent adjusted) of the Sherrone Moore era behind only domination of CMU in 2025 and Northwestern in 2024. Heck, the 2023 national title winners only held 3 opponents under 3.6 YPP.

Dom Nichols was outstanding. Smith Snowden looked like a real nice player. Even the young linebackers looked reasonable for the most part. Rod Moore seemed healthy enough.
