Michigan has 7-9 guys on the line. Western still goes with four, and off a bit. Then they have another four (LB, S) in the box ready to read and react. On a run play, Michigan's OL creates a pile mess of its own, double teaming everyone while the linebackers wait to see what lane opens up or come round the outside because Beigel or Gach have collapsed in on whoever the tackle was engaged with. On a pass play, well, Bryce now has 2-3 targets and there are 7 players dropped back in coverage. So Bryce is struggling to read the coverage, forcing it into double coverage, etc.
