- Senate Leadership Fund has $45 million committed to the race and says it will pour more in: “I would expect that we and others will double down our investments in Michigan, because this guy is uniquely unqualified and objectionable," said SLF executive director Alex Latcham
-NRSC chair Tim Scott says El-Sayed's record is "target-rich" on ICE, police and Medicare for All: “There are some things that he has said that are indefensible, and frankly, using his words is the best approach going forward"
- Democrats are at a spending disadvantage at the moment both at super PAC and candidate level. Senate Majority PAC has $20M scheduled on TV and "substantial" digital investment but Dems say they will need more. Van Hollen: “You don’t need to beat all these super PACs and Republican efforts, but you need to have the resources to be competitive"
- Disclaimer: The environment is bad for Republicans and this is still Michigan. Sen. Peters: "We’re going to have the wind at our back ... he’s got the kind of organization that he can catch that wind." Rs agree to some extent. Latcham: "This is still Michigan during a midterm cycle where history typically does not favor the party in power"
