Technically I'm now a consultant and self-employed. So as long as I meet the requirements for the new job I'm fine.

The old job knows that 90% of my time will be evenings answering emails and whatnot. I told them I need 24hrs notice for meetings and can only do a couple a week.
It won't affect the new gig which I have a contract for essentially 2000hrs a year. It's mostly that I am making my days longer and I have to carry around a second laptop. I'll be okay. The old job is going to pay my insurance for a few more months which ends up making my hourly rate really nice.
