So when we are repeatedly caught doing things against the rules, it gets way more attention. This board can debate the benefits we got from burgergate, Stallions, etc. But the average CFB fan believes that Michigan cheated AND knows on some level that a lot of our fans like to think we're better than they are.

It's the same reason so many fans like to see Notre Dame struggle.

So when a situation like this occurs where Michigan did nothing wrong, but it sure appears like the B1G put their finger on the scale to benefit us, people are outraged that it's more of the same. I'm not saying I agree, but I spend enough time traveling and talking to different fanbases to know how Michigan is perceived.
