That investigation should include how/why the various shots seemed to show unsynced time clocks when they should've all been reset to 9s. Maybe the issue wasn't the clock, but a delay on the camera feed showing the clock. So the clock was right but the video feed was delayed...? They should clearly state what the actual rules are and which timer is the official one. I would also expect them to correct misinformation from the various rules experts NBC ran out there during the game to make it seem like Western got screwed.

I don't expect the outcome to change. I suspect the B1G followed the rules as written. I suspect most of the problem is the broadcast talking heads were stating incorrect information about "the TV clock is the one the replay is supposed to use". But Western deserves a 1-2 day investigation by the NCAA to break everything down. If the B1G didn't follow the rules, they aren't going to overturn the result, but Western would deserve an apology. With how inept the B1G, it's officials, and the Commissioner are, I at least am willing to hold the possibility that the timer being used by the officials may not be the correct one per their agreement with the TV networks.
