I like having a movie on in the background while I'm working. Half the time I go looking for a movie I want to watch, it's nowhere to be found on the countless freaking streaming apps I pay for. It was at one time, but not currently, or it was on this one, then this one, now neither.

I'm very close to going HAM and spending thousands of dollars on Amazon and ordering a hard copy of every damn movie I can think of (that I don't have a copy of already), filling out a collection, and canceling all these apps. I mean, this entire streaming scenario going to shit was predictable, but it's all become a giant scam.

- You might get some of these covered through a credit card? Amex Plat gives a $25 credit a month (i think Sapphire covers some too). My Amex also covers Walmart+ and you can get 1-2 of these free through that too. And lastly, some cable services cover some (Spectrum does)* - By toffee August 6, 2026 at 03:20:37 PM

  - Herrick is pretty nice. Actually I should go down there. I had to go into the library in Grand Haven recently to find an old article from our paper, and they have an awesome vinyl collection. You can rent or sit right there and listen. Pretty cool.* - By gbmcq August 6, 2026 at 01:03:26 PM
