Not everyone's cup of tea by any means given the format, but it has 20+ episodes that are >9.0 on IMDB for a reason. Tackles depression, drug addiction, alcoholism, death, grief, and flawed characters in a really meaningful way.
Not to spoil too much, but there's a point in season 2 where the tone shifts dramatically. You'll know it when you get there.
