Food thing from hiking

A few weeks ago, I spent 3 nights at huts in the White Mountains in NH as part of my AT journey. You basically have to stay in one at certain points of the trail up there, and they charge an arm and a leg, but you get a hot breakfast and a hot dinner.
Now, I was about as hungry for dinner as I could possibly be after very, very long and hard days of hiking. I do not eat much of a lunch when I hike, though I snack. I was famished.
Here are the 3 dinners that we were served:
1. Falafel. Now, I don't mind falafel once in a while for lunch if I am not very hungry. This, however, was not such an instance. It wasn't even balls of falafel - more like cakes. Not very good, and obviously not very filling.
2. Bean enchiladas. There are very few foods that I don't like or choose to omit from a dish when it is included, but beans are one of them. If I screw up at a Mexican place and forget to tell them "no beans", it ruins the meal for me. Enough said.
3. Pulled pork. For reasons not relating to religion, I have never in my life eating pulled pork, pork chops, anything with the word "pork" in it, or ham. I eat pepperoni, bacon, and once in a while sausage, but never this pork. I took a very, very small amount of it from the family-style tray on which it was served (there is mandatory clean plate club at the huts), and it actually was pretty good. Not much different than pulled BBQ chicken.
Anyway, I survived, and I won't have to stay in a hut ever again.
