Again, we have two MLB organizations who do what these people suggest; the Rockies and Giants. How’s that been working out for them?
Also, have these guys even taken a cursory glance at the stats draftees produce? This year’s #3 overall pick was a catcher from Georgia Tech who hit .397/.519/.772, 20 HR in 61 games at GT this year. That seems pretty good, no?
Sure, the Tigers took a pitcher at #22 who’s all arm right now (11-7, 4.08 ERA, but 3.87 K/BB in 3 college seasons). But the #22 pick is a lottery ticket. You’re not drafting a sure thing at #22.
