All of the discussion about this (me included) misses the real point that this will never, ever, happen and it is just one more stupid promise Trump is making that he will eventually break.

There is no money to do this, no currency to do this, no momentum to do this, and nobody with an ounce of sense thinks it is a good idea. IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN. Trump can't just tell Treasury to send people $5,000 checks. That's not how this works. That's not how any of this works.
One more future broken promise. Dem messaging should be like "There he goes again, promising you the moon, and delivering you nothing but higher costs, more war, and more bullshit."
