Diesel prices in California are so high that some gas stations can't show the correct price on their pumps.
Patrick De Haan, the head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, found that five California gas stations have hit $9.999 per gallon — the maximum price that gas stations can show on their digital displays, which typically only display four digits.
