The Victors

Grew up in CA, I remember my dad waking me up and showing me the news.

I was in 7th grade, school assembly first thing to start the day, I remember our principal trying to keep everyone calm.

With having a WWII veteran grandfather plus being interested in the constant stream news broadcasts and resulting tv series and movies, over time, I felt a duty to join the military. ROTC ended up being my pathway to UM.

I loved being in and I love being out.

Now being a parent and having a completely fucked DoD makes military service a path I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

9/11 is an insane ripple effect that crushed families locally and later in warzones. So much loss.
