and from what I could see, all of our pass attempts came out of 3 WR plus 1 TE formations, or in a couple cases where we had 2 TE but one was split out. One time we went empty
with the RB and TE split out.

We did run heavy formations with 2 TE in line and only 2 WR (and sometimes the WR was bunched in) but we did not pass out of those formations.

Interestingly on the running formations, Hoffman was the 2nd TE with Klein. But on all the pass plays the TEs were Klein and sometimes Klein and Marshall.

So last year our base was 3 WR and a TE, or 2 WR and 2 TE (Klein and Marshall). Our heavy was 2 TE and that was Klein and Hoffman in the Maryland game, but I think Hoffman was playing b/c Bredeson got hurt.

This year our heavy is not a receiving/blocking TE like Klein, plus Bredeson/Hoffman. It's Hoffman at TE plus an OL. We don't use a real tight end. This is a problem because Bryce had some nice completions in the first half of Maryland to Klein and to Marshall. He also had a couple great throws to Marsh out of the passing packages (3 WR plus TE or 2 WR plus 2 receiving TE).

The other problem this year is not only is our heavy package very weird (no real TE with 2 WR) but we are running it 60 percent of the time. It is our base offense. Bryce Underwood will never be a successful passer in this formation and in this offense. IMO
