Lose and we're dealing with legitimate calls to bench Underwood or at least give Carr some series. Recruiting is going to suffer because the narrative goes back to the fact we more or less have lost two games.

Today righted the ship. Bryce had a good but not amazing game. He showed progress. We beat a team that will be top15 end of the season, very early in the tenure of a new staff. We'll improve more game-to-game than most teams because we have the new staff. 8-4 seems like the floor now with 9-3 or even 10-2 the ceiling. There will be at least positive reporting and momentum for the team.

If we'd lost... . Everything around the program would be negative, and maybe deservedly so. I'm still very concerned about the OL and running game. OU has a great defense, but WMU...? There were no holes for the backs and they mostly got 2-3yds. For all the slurping the MGoBlog crew did about the OL this offseason I expected FAR better. Also, why is Beigel getting so many snaps? Why is he the Rhino? FFS he looks so average at best.

The defense was very good. Almost great today. The offense was good enough to win paired with the defense. ST's was great except for the stupid ass punt block calls that almost cost us twice. Just a little offensive improvement and we're going to win a lot of games where the total points scored is under 40.
