I agree with some of your criticisms of Beck, but I don’t think it’s time to jump off a bridge quite yet. He’s a got a short but very impressive track record in the run game. Seems like they’re using Hoffmann as TE/FB/H back hybrid, and I think he’s done well, including as a receiver.

Would much rather see Marshall out there than Beigel, and much more downhill running by the RBs. Hopefully Beck is willing to adjust, rather than sticking with the Big 12 philosophy. Im still optimistic that he will. Also notable that Oklahoma is supposed to have a monstrous defensive front. I thought our OL acquitted themselves well. If the offense looks like this vs Penn State or even Iowa, that would be a cause for concern.

    - I think Hoffman misses a lot of blocks for a blocker esp when he has to move laterally instead of straight ahead. But his presence would be tolerable if Beigel never played and the other player was a normal TE or WR.... - By Rich September 13, 2026 at 10:53:20 AM
