Do VPNs still work for YTTV?

Trying to figure out my plan for the Lions. Figure they have so many national games + games I'll get anyway + times I'll have plans that it's not remotely worth paying for Sunday Ticket. Can VPN it, but I'd read they're pretty aggressive in going after/recognizing those. Or I could just go to a bar. Which is fine though I don't think there's a dedicated Lions bar here, not that I need one.

I'm lazy though, so I don't want to relearn how to route the VPN through my router if it's not even going to work.
