The Victors

I made it a point to tell OU fans near me pregame that I hope our fans are nice to them and that they enjoy their time here. I know that is something that I like to hear when I visit new places for big football games.

When I am on the road I either wear just a M hat, or nothing at all. Hell, I wore no Michigan gear yesterday. I do not enjoy or 'handle well' shit talking from opposing fans, and just below that I loathe passive aggressive shit talking nearby. So to help avoid that I do not gear up and flaunt my fandom or talk shit, get overly excited when something good happens for my team.

I cringe when I see someone from an opposing fanbase do stuff like that. At the Texas game in 2024 a UT fan would turn around to face our crowd and do the horns up thing high above his head to taunt our crowd after Texas did something good, like he had anything to do with it. Of course this was just months after our NC and Texas has never done shit, do you can imagine how well that went. Eventually a former Michigan player got into his face after about the 5th time he did it. The UT fan left soon after that in the 2nd Q and never came back.

Yesterday a single OU fan close to us who had been quiet the entire game decided to pull something similar on their 1 TD and several fans yelled, "SCOREBOARD!!!!" at him and were basically baiting him to fight.

Last year at the OU game an old piece of shit sooner kept yelling shit like, "ALL DAY!!! ALL DAY!!!" right behind me whenever something good happened for them. His wife, sesning my irritation, actually apologized to me several times.

I know this shit happens everywhere with every fanbase, and it really sucks. But it seems to be happening much more frequently now and with much more vitriol. I guess since the players are getting paid now, college football fans are becoming NFL fans over time.
