I think this week was a particularly conservative approach after seeing all the mistakes and Bryce’s decision making in week 1. Those were better this week, but still a long way to go. I’m fine with the approach against oklahoma but we need to step it up and find something to make us less one dimensional because this offense needs to be way better. We can probably play a similar game against iowa but i hope we make some strides by then. A lot to clean up, but we have a lot of room for improvement and i think we will get there. On Beck, i remember doing a rewatch of the BYU Utah and Utah ASU games once beck was confirmed and I knew a lot of our fanbase was not going to be a fan. The horizontal jet sweep stuff is just a staple of his. It’s like Harbaugh’s insistence in running into stacked boxes. It seems to set up everything he wants to do. The problem is we are making too many mistakes so it isn’t setting up much. Maybe Whittingham will step in a bit like Harbaugh in 2019 but i think he trusts Beck because of last year, and i think Bryce and the offensive line have time to improve in time for the meat of the schedule.
