He makes a killing and his son was basically stealing money but the players get a relative pittance. That said, Dochterman might have been responsible for their numbers and likely under-reported them.
Also, Miami is a massive outlier in that they are spending like a team that has a massive fan base to monetize, which they obviously don't. As with most South Florida entities, I assume that there is fraud and illegality involved in their payroll sources. Nothing is more Miami that living beyond your means through gratft.
