People were mixed on the Hoke hire. Revisionist history says it was negative and many of us were, but Brandon led a PR campaign that had quotes from dozens of former players and many bought in. When he won the Sugar Bowl in Year 1, people loved him and we had skywriting and cockiness in Year 2. Drunk MSC was still invoking Hoke in her halftime speech in Year 3. But ppl were done with him in Year 4....although Brandon probably would have kept him.
Sherrone had a ton of goodwill and even after going 7-5 (plus a bowl win), you were often criticized for criticizing what Sherrone was building. It wasn't even THAT negative last year. We had a young team and ppl chose to ignore the bad offense and complain about Wink.
Whit has a great honeymoon going on now and probably will all year, but you never know how it will be in a couple years.
