Dartmouth vs Cornell, maybe late 1930s. Dartmouth insisted that Cornell’s last second winning TD had come on 5th down. The Cornell coach said “if someone can show me proof that that is true, we will forfeit.” Some journalist, IiRC, furnished proof. Cornell forfeit.
