"Here’s what I want to know: the committee says they “consulted with national officiating leadership.” What the fuck does that mean?

Imagine you register an HR complaint and your company says they “consulted with national HR leadership” in denying your complaint. Who fucking cares? Show me the rule that was broken. Show me the protocol that was not followed. Show me the legally binding contract trail that establishes what went wrong.

All the committee is saying is that some other officials aren’t familiar with how it was done that night. That means nothing. None of this means anything until you establish who has authority to make the rules and what the rule was. It beggars belief that the Big Ten has built an entire illegal system for syncing replay video.

What’s vastly more likely is that there was no formal protocol and the officials were just using the system the Big Ten gave them. And now a bunch of people want to squawk about unwritten rules after the fact because Michigan losing would have been more fun."
