We knew the defense would be bad before injuries. The offense is what gets me. Until that last drive Goff was 8/10 for 80yds. We were averaging over 4ypc rushing. But 2 fumbles and 6 penalties destroy drives. We have two #2 receivers and no #1. Goff adds no running threat.

His top targets are Gibb 4 times and LaPorta 3. I know many of you like and were defending the JayMo contract, but he was an immature asshole and the Lions paid him hoping he'd keep growing up. Instead of turning into Randy Moss 2.0 he continues to have the dropsies. He has talent you can see, but his production is that of a #2, not a guy getting that kind of money. He doesn't dominate or take over games. He has a few big plays when there is a mismatches or he can get deep. And those a fun. But that's what a fast #2 does. Jaymo isn't out there demanding double coverage and still getting his when he is. He isn't a guy Goff just goes to the second he sees him in man.
The offense can't overcome one bad play or penalty and sustain a drive, and tonight they've had multiple bad things per drive.
So I'm more upset by the offense than the defense. We knew the defense would be bad. The talent got worse and the DC still sucks. Holmes has spent most of his money on the offense, and it's completely pedestrian.
