At first. It can help for awhile. Years even. But eventually it’s going to become too much. One has to do more and more to get the same effect. Soon, you can’t get out of bed in the morning without doing a bump.

I’m afraid Lanning is entering the phase where his habit has evolved into a deep addiction. I don’t think it is going to end well for him.
