Well, you know…I was already pretty pumped, but…
Beck has a history of getting great results in the running game, and his preferred personnel usage is an excellent fit for our roster. I think Underwood can be a really dangerous QB in this offense. There were a lot of clips of Dampier hitting guys who had been “schemed” wide open. That is something that Sherrone’s offenses did not do very well. JJ was great at putting throws into very tight windows, so it was not such an issue in those years.
Of course, Beck’s done it in more defense-optional conferences, so that’s a little bit of concern.
