I think good execution is a lot more than just knowing to "block the guy." I was a wrestling coach. It wasn't enough for guys to memorize specific takedowns. They had to execute precisely and confidently without thinking.

Any lack of confidence resulted in a weak and indecisive movement. A lack of precision resulted in the move not working, footwork getting messed up, leverage being off, etc. I assume blocking is the same.
