Given that your daughter has an IEP, the school has a literal obligation to meet her needs appropriately. While appropriate is purposefully a somewhat fuzzy term, the law mandates that children with IEPs be considered as unique individuals, with specific needs. So, "one size fits all" is the antithesis of their legal obligation. The point being, you could also indicate that maintaining a viable communication system is not just something that you would like because it works, but is actually necessary to meet your daughter's needs, which is the school's legal requirement.
