Who’s saying that? Not everything is black and white…

Beigel can move ppl—there’s no doubt of that. But he also seems to be in the wrong place quite a bit of the time, doesn’t yet seem to have the idea down of releasing to pick up a LB, etc. None of which is surprising, of course: he was never an OL before.
It seems to me that the data Beck is looking at must be telling him that our plays from standard 5-OL formations have been more successful than our rhino plays. ANd the number of rhino snaps has been going down game by game. But this sort of “doubling down” talk about Beigel is a little disconcerting.

Marich: #Michigan OC Jason Beck says OL Manuel Beigel has done a really nice job at the Rhino position. He’s still new to playing offense, but he’s really been picking it up and has made strides.*

The RHINO package's problem has not been Beigel, he's been solid, the problem is the same as the entire OL, the guards have not been very good.*

I fear that Rich may be correct about this—that Beck is married to the rhino concept, like Lloyd was married to playing as if he had the ‘97 defense***
