Iowa had a good team. They were in the Top 20 at the time, but Michigan was in the Top 10... and at home. Brad Banks (QB) and Jermelle Lewis (RB) killed us. Navarre was horrific with just over 100 yards passing. It was Michigan's worst home loss since before Bo Schembechler.
22 yards on 20 rushing attempts was a warning sign of Lloyd's late tenure "run or die trying" offenses.

Iowa turned out to be very good that year. We did bounce back the following week and beat MSU 49-3 in the Spartan Clock Operator Bob rematch.*
