I think they originally said it didn't apply to 2022 kids so 2022 kids (like Gayle) went "pro." Then the rule changed to allow 2022 kids, but those who already went pro were ineligible becaues they had gone pro already.

So those kids sued since they never would have gone pro to begin with if they had the choice at the time.
