The B1G and SEC CCGs draw huge viewership numbers generally, and when there's a really good matchup like Alabama-UGA or last year's IU-OSU, they draw giant audiences. The broadcasters are going to pay less if those games don't exist, but the conferences might be able to offset those losses with an extra round of playoff games. That's especially true if that extra round features good games.
