and to show how little it matters, he is getting rocked by hard hits this year. Barrel rate up, hard hit rate up, exit velocities up, WHIP way up. He was ranked as the #21 prospect in the Tigers system by BlessYouBoys blog in March of this year accounting for his performance last season. FanGraphs had him at #40 in the Tigers system this season.

His strikeouts are way up this year, but so are walks allowed. He is not a great reliever this year.

Reading too much into small samples is often a fools errand, but lets not pretend like he "pitched well" last season. He did not.
