If I ever get the chance to be an eccentric multi-millionaire booster, this is exactly the NIL fund I’m setting up. (Special teams/LS/P/K.)(m)

Everybody (rightfully) wants to contribute NIL for an elite QB, lockdown CB, monster DT, etc., but it risks special teams & utility players being orphans. Rather than throwing a marginal extra $1M-$2M for the “glamor” positions, I bet for relatively cheap you could guarantee a rock solid special teams roster: a skilled LS, all American contending punter & kicker, and 1-2 competent “sure hands” P/K return specialists so you don’t have to risk injuring one of your top WRs on a stupid special teams play.

If you’ve already got a good-to-great team, some of the main things that can fuck you in the ass are two special teams scenarios:

1) Common but narrow coin flip end of game situations: last second FGs, being able to pin an opponent at their own goal line instead of kicking a fucking touchback, etc.; and

2) Negative fluke plays. Avoid future “trouble with the snaps,” Jake Thaw near-disaster Rose Bowl plays, etc.
